A major mudslide and flash flood at the China-Nepal border has killed 362 and left over 1,000 missing, including nearly 100 Chinese nationals. Rescue operations continue despite damaged roads and communications.

As of Thursday afternoon, 362 people were confirmed dead and more than 1,000 remained missing across both countries.
On the Chinese side, authorities reported three deaths and 558 people missing, while Nepal confirmed 359 deaths and at least 667 missing.
China’s Foreign Ministry said that nearly 100 Chinese nationals were also missing in Nepal. The Chinese embassy is working closely with Nepalese authorities to verify information and assist those affected.
Emergency teams are facing difficult conditions due to damaged roads, unstable terrain and disrupted communications. China has deployed rescue personnel, emergency supplies and transport support to the affected areas, while Nepal has also mobilized security forces and emergency workers.
Authorities on both sides continue to search for survivors and provide assistance to affected communities as the full scale of the disaster becomes clearer.
