When 112 Buses Weren't Enough for Shanghai American School
Chances are, if you've been in Shanghai for a while then you've spotted one of the signature Shanghai American School buses rolling through the city.
In 2018, SAS began turning its buses into storytellers, each one featuring a unique graphic representing the school.
This year, with the Pudong campus student population bigger than ever, they welcomed a brand-new storyteller to the fleet, bringing their total number of buses to 113.
The TEDx bus features seniors Alicia B. and Wendi W. during their TEDx presentation last school year—an image that captures the confidence and creativity that SAS students develop every day.
You'd think 113 buses would be enough to represent all the stories at a school. The fact is, with more than 3,000 students, inspiring stories happen almost daily at SAS, and there just aren't enough buses to tell them all.

A highlight of the event was the introduction of the PSO-hosted Green Market, where community members sold pre-loved items, handmade crafts, and their own creative designs.
This new initiative reflected Concordia's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, while providing a platform for students, parents, and staff to showcase their talents.
The festival once again highlighted Concordia's tradition of fostering community connection and cultural celebration, offering families across Shanghai a joyful day of activities, performances, and shared experiences.

Supporting Non-French-Speaking Families to Thrive from the Start
At Shanghai French School, they believe children succeed best when families feel supported and engaged.
For non-French-speaking families, the FLSco (a program for non-French-speaking families) offers a two-year intensive French course, guiding not only students but also parents, who often wonder how to follow their child's progress in an unfamiliar system.
Support begins even before the school year, with June orientation sessions to explore the campus and understand how the French curriculum compares with others.
Once school starts, FLSco teachers run workshops on school routines, homework tools, and parent roles, creating a welcoming space for questions.
Parents can also join weekly French classes tailored to school life and communication with teachers—last year, over 100 parents participated!
These efforts ensure families quickly feel at home and fully part of the community. Supporting parents means empowering children. At Shanghai French School, they help every family thrive from day one.
