A 38-year-old single woman recently started a heated debate online when she talked about her experience on a blind date. In a video, she said that the guy who was interested in marrying her turned her down after she listed five requirements. He said her standards were too high. When she saw this, she asked, "Are my conditions really that unreasonable?"
The woman's five conditions quickly gained attention.
The bride will receive a dowry of 300,000 yuan, which is approximately $41,000. Additionally, after marriage, the husband should not come home later than 10 p.m. More than five times, the marriage will end amicably without a dowry refund.
If the husband cheats, he must pay 100,000 yuan in emotional damages, end the marriage amicably, and forfeit the dowry.
In case of illness, she won't care for his parents. She asserted that this responsibility belongs to him, and if he insists she takes on this duty, the marriage will end, and the dowry will not be refunded.
The husband must hand over his entire salary, with only 1,000 yuan per month left for his personal expenses. If he doesn't comply, they will divorce and retain the dowry.
She does not enjoy socializing. Don't force her to attend family gatherings if she doesn't want to. If her husband exerts pressure on her, they will divorce without receiving the dowry back.
In her video, the woman expressed frustration, stating that men have rejected her multiple times due to these demands. She argued that her conditions serve to safeguard women's interests in marriage and criticised men for failing to meet her reasonable expectations.
The video quickly went viral, attracting widespread commentary from netizens. Some found her demands excessive, with one user sarcastically commenting, "She could have just taken the dowry, salary, house, and car—how considerate that she's even negotiating!" Another user commented, "Her demands are not excessive; if you persevere for a few more years, they won't be excessive."
Others poked fun at her future prospects, saying, "With conditions like that, you'll stay single until you're 108!" Another user joked, "You're so eloquent and beautiful; 300,000 is too little—ask for another 300,000!"
