The 43-year-old suspect, a Chinese national, had been posing as a woman online, using platforms such as WeChat and Little Red Book to advertise rental listings. Under the guise of seeking accommodation or booking private lodgings, he would meet with victims at their homes, where he then committed sexual assaults. Since January 2024, the suspect had carried out four attacks in Frankfurt, Mannheim, and Göttingen. The Frankfurt public prosecutor's office will process the case promptly and release further information as appropriate. Following the arrest, German authorities quickly informed the Chinese Consulate and expressed their appreciation for the swift, professional, and critical assistance provided by Chinese law enforcement in solving the case. They also voiced their hopes for continued strong cooperation between the two nations' police forces in the future.
