The Dongguan Municipal Bureau of Statistics' "2023 Average Wage Situation in Dongguan" reported that the average annual wage for employees in Dongguan was 98,726 yuan, with an average monthly wage of 8,227 yuan.
Foreigners are eligible to apply for an A-class work permit if their average salary income is at least six times the average social wage income of the previous year in the region, and for a B-class work permit if their average salary income is at least four times the average social wage income of the previous year in the region.
The pertinent calculation standards have been modified as follows:
From July 15, 2024 (based on the first submission time online), foreigners who rely on salary income as a condition for applying for an A-class foreigner work permit must have an average monthly salary of at least 49,362 yuan (six times the 2023 average social wage, 8,227 × 6 = 49,362).
The average monthly salary must not be less than 32,908 yuan for a B-class work permit, which is equivalent to four times the 2023 average social wage (8,227 × 4 = 32,908).
