Shanghai Subway Stabbing Leaves Three Injured; Suspect Arrested


  

 



A 54-year-old man was apprehended by Shanghai police on Wednesday after a stabbing at a subway station on Metro Line 9 left three people injured. The incident occurred at 8:28 am, as reported by China Central Television (CCTV), which cited a statement from the Shanghai metro police.



Upon receiving the report, officers promptly responded to the scene, ensuring the swift medical evacuation of the victims. The suspect, identified only by his surname Shen, was taken into custody without further incident.


The motive behind the attack is still under investigation, with authorities working diligently to uncover the circumstances that led to this violent act. The subway station was briefly closed for security and investigative purposes but has since returned to regular service.
