1China's policymakers will strike a balance between containing the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak and facilitating the resumption of regular business activities as a prolonged economic standstill could trigger greater risks, economists said.

China has made considerable progress in speeding up production, and the country will ramp up efforts to ensure the resumption of work goes smoothly to fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak, the country's top economic regulator said on Wednesday.

China's State-owned enterprises are taking the lead in resuming operations in an orderly manner, a government official said on Wednesday.

Cooking-related goods sold like hotcakes online due to the recent novel coronavirus outbreak as hundreds of millions of home-bound Chinese are finding ways to live and entertain themselves.

The Ministry of Commerce issued 20 measures to help domestic exporters resume the production, improve the government service for foreign companies and stimulate domestic consumption to limit the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on Chinese economy.
