Traffic officers often get a bad rap, but this one has gone on to win peoples hearts on social media after a video of him on duty was shared.
The video shows a wide intersection with a malfunctioning traffic light that does not have the second countdown.
Taking the matter into his own hands, the officer stands in the middle of that intersection and uses his body to replace the traffic light and let drivers know how many seconds they have left.
He eventually uses a normal traffic signal to indicate drivers that they can now drive on.

Many Chinese netizens have gone on to comment on the video in support of his efforts: I love his smile! one said. He just made my day.
Who is this adorable traffic officer?
His name is Liang Siqi, from the Hunan Shaoyang traffic police force.
His efforts were born out of an earlier notice of vehicles waiting at the traffic light for longer than they were supposed to due to the malfunctioning traffic light.
This is when Liang Siqi came up with the idea of (1) providing a fun and stress-free live experience for drivers waiting impatiently at the intersection, and (2) facilitate proper traffic in such a busy intersection by standing in the middle and using clear indications to let drivers know when they could continue on their journey.
