Great!Visitors Can Now Use Alipay Without a Chinese Bank Account

Alibaba just made the news again, but this time its for its e-payment platform.

After years of a growing pain for foreigners unable to access or use the app while visiting China, Alipay finally announced that it would create an international version of its mobile application, thereby removing one of the biggest hurdles that has prevented outsiders from taking part in China's growing cashless economy.

Ant Financial, an associate of Alibaba Group Holding, will allow visitors up to 90 days' usage of its Alipay smartphone application without requiring it to be tied to a Chinese bank account, according to a statement released on Tuesday.

Visitors can download Alipay for both iOS and Android devices and register for the international version of the app with their overseas mobile phone numbers.

Do you use Alipay for your daily expenses while living in China? Do you prefer its interface over WeChat Pay?

Let us know in the comment section below, but most importantly, let your visiting friends know about this great news!

And tell them GuideinChina told you about it first ;-)
