The National Meteorological Center (NMC) on Saturday renewed a yellow alert for high temperatures for several regions in China.
Some parts of South China, Southwest China, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and the western part of the Yangtze River and Huaihe River will see temperatures rise above 35 degrees Celsius, the NMC said on its website.
Temperatures in some provinces including Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Anhui, Guizhou, Sichuan and Chongqing may reach up to 39 degrees Celsius.
The public should reduce outdoor activities, and local authorities should take precautions against fires that may be caused by excessive power loads, the center warned.
