Municipal and district emergency and fire services immediately responded to the scene. The blaze has been put out, and no casualties have been reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD confirmed in a statement on Tuesday that a fire had occurred at a parking structure in a Shenzhen industrial park. The garage was used to park test and scrapped vehicles, the company added.

The fire has been extinguished, and no one was hurt, according to BYD.

Verified user‑generated video cited by Reuters showed large flames and thick black smoke billowing from the multi‑storey building, with fire trucks and police officers deployed at the scene.

Experts noted that electric vehicle fires behave differently from those involving internal combustion engine cars. EV fires often burn longer, are more difficult to put out completely, and carry a higher risk of re‑ignition.

BYD’s global headquarters is located in Pingshan District, Shenzhen.
