Check Your Power Bank! Leading Brand Launches Recall Over Fire Risk

Shenzhen ROMOSS Technology Co., Ltd. has issued a recall for 491,745 ROMOSS-branded power banks due to a potential fire hazard. According to the Shenzhen Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, the issue stems from raw materials in certain battery cells. In rare cases, the affected units may overheat during use, posing a fire risk in extreme conditions.

  • PAC20-272 (331,578 units)

  • PAC20-392 (113,253 units)

  • PLT20A-152 (46,914 units)


Production Dates:

  • PAC20-272: June 5, 2023 – July 28, 2023 & January 5, 2024 – February 8, 2024

  • PAC20-392: June 23, 2024 – July 31, 2024

  • PLT20A-152: August 2023 – January 2024


Affected Batches:

  • PAC20-272: C14-P6/P7, M14-P6/P7, C13-P6/P7, M20-Q1/Q2, M14-Q1/Q2, C14-Q1/Q2

  • PAC20-392: M14-Q6/Q7, C13-Q6/Q7, M20-Q6/Q7, M22-Q6/Q7

ROMOSS said that it will provide affected consumers with a free replacement unit of equal or greater value that meets safety standards, or offer a full refund.

The recall follows reports from several Beijing universities, where students were advised to stop using ROMOSS 20,000mAh chargers due to explosion risks during charging. ROMOSS has issued a public statement in response to these concerns.


Consumers should stop using the affected power banks immediately to avoid safety risks.
