Foreign travelers are reminded to pay close attention to visa validity and the permitted scope of stay under entry policies.
On April 13, immigration officers at Beijing Capital International Airport discovered a foreign traveler had entered an area beyond the permitted scope of their visa, constituting illegal residence.
The following day, on April 14, immigration authorities at Taiyuan Airport in Shanxi Province found another foreign national who had overstayed the duration allowed by their visa, also amounting to illegal residence.
Both individuals were given administrative penalties in accordance with Article 78, Paragraph 1 of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China.
China's visa-free transit policy allows eligible foreign nationals to travel across designated areas within 24 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. However, travelers must adhere strictly to the permitted stay duration to avoid penalties.
