"Due to the U.S. government's wrongful imposition of tariffs on China, public favorability toward American films is expected to decline," the spokesperson remarked. "We will follow market principles, respect audience preferences, and moderately reduce the number of U.S. films imported into China."

As the world's second-largest film market, China remains committed to a high level of openness. The Administration reiterated its dedication to introducing quality films from around the world to meet domestic market demand.
