China Executes Man for Fatal Stabbing of Japanese Schoolboy

According to The Japan Times, Chinese authorities have executed Zhong Changchun, who was convicted of fatally stabbing a 10-year-old Japanese boy in Shenzhen, southern China, in September 2024.

The incident occurred on September 18, 2024, as the boy was on his way to a nearby Japanese school.

He was attacked and stabbed in the abdomen, succumbing to his injuries the following day.

The Japanese Embassy in Beijing was notified of Zhong's execution by China's Foreign Ministry on Monday, though specific details—such as the timing and location of the execution—were not disclosed.

In January, a local district court found Zhong guilty and sentenced him to death, condemning the crime as particularly vicious.
