An agreement on mutual visa-free travel is expected to be signed during the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to China.
According to Report, this was announced at the 10th meeting of the Azerbaijan-China Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Officials noted that the agreement will provide a strong boost to bilateral exchanges and help increase the number of mutual visits.
In recent years, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Azerbaijan has steadily increased, particularly after Azerbaijan implemented a unilateral visa-free policy for Chinese citizens. The upcoming mutual visa exemption agreement will further facilitate the free travel of citizens between the two countries, building on the current momentum and ushering in a new phase of bilateral relations.
Since July 20 last year, Azerbaijan has offered a one-year unilateral visa-free policy for Chinese citizens. Once the mutual visa-free agreement is officially signed, it will seamlessly follow the current temporary exemption.
