The ordeal, which was meant to serve as a test of his commitment before marriage, has now led to a legal dispute between the couple's families.

A Painful Test of Love

According to reports from mainland media outlet NetEase News, the man's girlfriend brought him to a labour pain simulation center as a way to make him experience the hardships of childbirth. The decision was reportedly influenced by her mother and sister, who believed that understanding the pain women endure during labor would help ensure he would be a supportive husband.

Initially resistant, the man ultimately agreed to undergo the simulation. The procedure used electric currents to stimulate the muscles and mimic the pain of uterine contractions. While the first 90 minutes allowed for gradual increases in pain intensity, the simulation reportedly remained at maximum intensity for the remainder of the session.

The girlfriend described the distressing experience on social media, stating: "My boyfriend started screaming and struggling at level 8, swearing and crying at level 10, and by the end, he was gasping for air. My sister and I kept wiping his sweat."

Following the simulation, the man exhibited severe symptoms, including abdominal pain and vomiting. Initially dismissed as temporary discomfort, his condition worsened over the next week, leading to hospitalization.
