Province to Promote Mutual Recognition of Work Permits

  The Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology (Sichuan Provincial Foreign Experts Bureau) has recently issued the "Implementation Rules for the Internal Management and Services of Foreigners' Work Permits in Sichuan Province (Trial)" (referred to as the "Rules"). These new measures aim to further improve the management and service levels for foreign nationals working in Sichuan.

  The Rules clarify that the management of work permits for foreigners coming to China will be subject to a registration system. They define the management responsibilities of implementing agencies and their staff, and outline the procedures and authority of various functional departments. The Rules also emphasize the importance of data security, requiring the enforcement of information and data security responsibilities at the local level, and setting clear requirements for the use and sharing of materials and data during the work permit process.

  Additionally, the Rules highlight the need to enhance convenience for foreigners working in Sichuan. A service tracking and feedback mechanism will be established to continuously optimize service effectiveness. The Rules also promote mutual recognition of work permits in the Sichuan-Chongqing economic circle and the Chengdu-Deyang-Meishan-Ziyang area. Furthermore, a "green channel" will be created for the expedited processing of work permits for urgently needed foreign talents recruited under tailored plans, aiming to attract more outstanding foreign professionals to Sichuan.
