China and Azerbaijan on July 3rd issued a joint statement on the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries.

Azerbaijan has decided to implement a one-year unilateral visa-free policy for Chinese nationals, said the joint statement.

Following Georgia, another Caucasian country has granted visa-free entry to China. Previously, Azerbaijan allowed visa-free entry for Chinese diplomatic, service, and official passports, while ordinary passport holders needed to apply for an electronic visa or visa on arrival, costing between $26 and $60.
