Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday said he welcomes Nauru to join the Belt and Road Initiative while meeting with his counterpart from the South Pacific island country David Adeang in Beijing. In January, Nauru cut ties with the Taiwan authorities and resumed diplomatic relations with China soon after. The visit is the first by the Nauruan president since the resumption of diplomatic ties. Xi pointed out that Nauru's political decision to adhere to the one-China principle and restore diplomatic ties with China in January is a move that conforms to the trend of history and the times. "Friendship, whenever it is started, will have a bright future. Cooperation, whatever its size, will be productive as long as it is sincere," Xi said. Xi said China-Nauru relations have opened a new chapter in history, and China is ready to work with Nauru to create a better future of China-Nauru relations and bring more.


China is willing to work with Dominica to synergize their development strategies and turn the friendly relations into a driving force for win-win cooperation to achieve more results and deliver more benefits to the two peoples, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday. Xi made the remarks while meeting with Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit in Beijing. Noting that Dominica is an important country in the Caribbean and a trustworthy good friend and partner of China in the region, Xi said the two countries have always respected each other and treated each other as equals since the establishment of diplomatic ties 20 years ago. With increasing political mutual trust, vigorous exchanges and cooperation in various fields and deepening friendship between the two peoples, China-Dominica relations have become a good example of South-South cooperation, he said.


The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2024, under the theme of "Asia and the World: Common Challenges, Shared Responsibilities," will be held from March 26 to 29 in Boao, Hainan Province. This year's event aims to address contemporary global challenges, rebuild confidence and promote shared development. Government officials, heads of international organizations, business leaders, and experts from various countries are expected to attend the event. The conference agenda is around four key pillars: the global economy, social development, international cooperation, and scientific and technological innovation, covering dozens of topics. The forum is set to host insightful discussions on the future of artificial intelligence (AI). These sessions will aim to shed light on when and where the next breakthrough moment in the technology revolution would occur, the transformative impact of AI Generated Content (AIGC) on society, and the global governance of AI. Additionally, the conference will focus on topics such as combating global trade fragmentation, global economic outlooks, and global security challenges.
