While this may have seemed radical at the time, it certainly worked to contain the spread of the virus. In total, over a billion people extended their stay and remained home while medical staff volunteers gave their blood, sweat and tears to treat those who had already been infected.

Everyone was morally obliged to abide by this rule and wear a mask, for the sake of their own health and that of others. Food delivery services were in high demand throughout those 6+ weeks, and some had found creative ways of delivering orders without needing to come into close contacts with their customers.

Aylward, who led the WHO-China joint mission, went further in his remarks by stating that he would have wanted to get treated in China, had he caught the virus and needed to. This speaks to the nations impressive collective efforts to fight COVID-19.
Aylward made the comment during a news conference in Geneva on Feb 26, where he also reported that China has been investing massively in disease control and treatment operations.

Mobilizing volunteer staff in a short timespan
Within only 3 weeks, more than 42,600 healthcare professionals were sent to help battle COVID-19 in Hubei province, 19,000 of whom specialized in intensive care.
Two makeshift hospitals, Huoshenshan and Leishenshan, were built in Wuhan from scratch in several days, with a capacity of 1,000 and 1,600 beds respectively, to treat COVID-19 patients.
Other public venues were also converted into such temporary hospitals.
In total, 16 temporary hospitals were built.
And just the other day, China officially announced that all 16 makeshift hospitals in Wuhan would be permanently closed.

The WHO-China Joint Mission on COVID-19 said that China's measures to contain the disease have "averted or at least delayed hundreds of thousands of additional COVID-19 cases in the country.
Despite the arguments going around on the internet, one cant deny the strong efforts put in place by China to successfully fight this outbreak.
Although the peak of the virus has reportedly already been reached, China continues to produce and send medical supplies and testing kits to other nations hit by COVID-19, as well as medical experts to aid the global anti-virus battle.
As the seasons get warmer with spring around the corner, we can only hope that the world will be able to recover from this outbreak as soon as possible.
