Before entering the community, a home-quarantine applicant must pass the nucleic acid test first;
All persons under home quarantine must not leave their home until it ends.
Procedures for Home Isolation in Shanghai
So, what is home isolation like in Shanghai?
Lets take Hongqiao Street for example, where 629 people of 444 families from 27 countries are under home quarantine.
On the morning of March 25th, a couple living Hongqiao Street from South Korea needed to recalculate isolation time as the husband returned to Shanghai in early February, but the wife just arrived in Shanghai on March 24th, thus, the couple tried to figure out the days of their quarantine.
First, the community staff asked them to put on the masks and sign a letter of legal commitment of home quarantine, and then a doctor took take their body temperatures.
After that, they were given a multilingual paper of home life tips, including the use of disinfectants, the regulations of household waste and the specific time for doctors to take temperature at home.
Last, the police went to install a door-to-door magnet on their door for induction to record each time the door opens, which has no videoing function.
Once violating the regulation, the home isolators would be transferred to a centralized quarantine as well as punished.
As per the Shanghai Police, in order to implement the home isolation policy, each family in need of home isolation is under the management of one police officer. Those who refuse to implement home quarantine measures will be dealt with by the police strictly in accordance with the law.
