Tangqi Ancient Town: A "Living" Old Hangzhou

Compared with other famous towns in the south of the Yangtze River, Tangqi ancient town seems not to be so outstanding. But in fact, it has the characteristics of Jiangnan Water Town.

Tangqi ancient town was founded in the Northern Song Dynasty. Since the Yuan Dynasty, there were many merchants. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Tangqi ancient town has ranked the first among the "Ten Famous Towns in the South of the Yangtze River". Emperor Qianlong even  visited it several times.

Guangji Bridge is the only seven-hole stone arch bridge on the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal. After hundreds of years, it has witnessed the ups and downs of Tangqi.

The town is not big, but there are old houses built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, unique food and a slow-paced life that city people yearn for. After more than 600 years, Tangxi ancient town is still charming.
