Coping with

stress

-Away from Coronavirus-

Its normal to feel sad, stressed, confused, scared or angry during this challenging period. Please help yourself cope with stress by followings:

1\ Talking to those you trust such as friends and family can help you cope with stress. Keep social contacts with loved ones by whatever possible means.

2\ Maintain a healthy lifestyle, including proper diet, sleep, and exercise. Keep to regular routines and schedules as much as possible.

3\ Dont use smoking, alcohol or other drugs to deal with your emotions.

4\ Talk to a health worker or counsellor if you feel overwhelmed. The University Counselling Service is now providing a full online counselling service via Zoom during the hours of  9-12pm and 15pm Standard China Time, Monday to Friday. Please feel free to contact them if you are finding it difficult to cope

(Universitycounsellingservice@nottingham.edu.cn).

5\ Get the facts. Gather more information that will help you accurately determine your risk so that you can take reasonable precautions. Find a credible source you can trust such as WHO website or, a local or state public health agency.

6\ Limit worry and agitation by lessening the time you and your family spend watching or listening to media coverage that you perceive as upsetting.

7\ Draw on skills you have used in the past that have helped you to manage previous lifes adversities and use those skills to help you manage your emotions during the challenging time of this outbreak.
