A New Local COVID-19 Case in Zhejiang, Who Spends 8H in Flight

On March 26, Jiaxing Zhejiang reported a local case of COVID-19 infection. The patient is a 25-year-old male, originated from Yongjia, Wenzhou. 


On March 21, the man took flight CA1716 from Beijing to Hangzhou. His mother picked him up from Xiaoshan Airport by car and they returned to a company (a single workshop) located in Xieqiao Town, Haining City. 
On March 22, he drove to Wenzhou to sweep the tomb and returned to Haining on March 25 afternoon and went to see the doctor for having syndromes. 
On March 26, the man was confirmed of COVID-19 infection.
How did the man get infected?
It is reported that due to the weather, the man spent 8 hours on his flight from Beijing to Hangzhou, where there were 25 overseas passengers onboard, all travelling to Hangzhou via Beijing. Among them, a passenger whose seat number was 29C was later confirmed infected. This infected flew from Germany on March 20 to Holland via KL1776 and arrived in Beijing on March 21 by CG346, and then flew to Hangzhou by CA1716 and later was tested positive. 

 China to further reduce international passenger flights


On March 26, Civil Aviation Administration of China issued that each Chinese airline is only allowed to maintain one route to any specific country with no more than one flight per week; each foreign airline is only allowed to maintain one route to China with no more than one weekly flight, which is to be implemented as of March 29, 2020. 

 

Hangzhou restores health code checking in public places


On March 26, Hangzhou issued a notice that with the rapid global spread of the epidemic, all localities should take the prevention of the import of overseas epidemic as the top priority. In addition to a 14-day centralized isolation to all inbound travelers, the international version of health code should be fully implemented. Besides, Hangzhou will continue to implement the management of Health Code for public places, subway, buses and other means of transportation.



Alibaba foundation donates thousands of kits to help Angola

 

Angola received Thursday thousands of kits from the foundations of Alibaba and Jack Ma to help the southern African country fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The donation includes 20,000 COVID-19 test kits, 100,000 masks and 1,000 level-three personal bio-safety suits.

 

With three registered cases of COVID-19, the Angolan government declared on Wednesday a state of emergency in the country from Friday, as part of the measures to fight the pandemic.



Wuhan no longer at 'high risk' of coronavirus outbreak



Wuhan has had its coronavirus risk evaluation downgraded from "high risk" to "medium risk," a local health official told a press conference on March 27.



What steps can my family take to reduce the risk of getting COVID-19 during home isolation?


  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough and sneeze and throw the tissue in the trash.


  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing; going to the bathroom; and before eating or preparing food.


  • If soap and water and not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.


  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects (e. g., tables and countertops, light switches, doorknobs, and cabinet handles).
