3 More Places to Introduce 2.5-Day Weekends in China

That extra half-day off seems to be getting a lot of attention and traction lately.

After publishing an article to announce Jiangxi province had just introduced two-and-a-half-day weekends a couple of days ago, weve just heard news that three more cities and provinces are following suit.

Among them, Gansu provinces Longnan City has reportedly begun encouraging more consumption by allowing all staff to take an extra half-day off for a prolonged weekend of spending and supporting local businesses. However, no company may deduct this additional time off from an employees annual paid leave.

Zhejiang province has also encouraged its businesses to start implementing a 4.5-day work week considering its status as a major tourist attraction.
