What Stays Open During the Spring Festival?

For those who re staying in Shanghai during the Spring Festival, you should be aware of the adjusted hours of the following places and services:




Delivery services



Delivery services companies SF Express () and EMS are available during the Spring Festival. However, they will both change at least 10 RMB of an additional service charge.

Metro



Shanghai metro Line 2 and 9 have adjusted/cancelled schedules. If youre going to Hongqiao Railway Station, you cant take Line 2 during the Festival. For more info, click HERE.





Exit-Entry Bureau



Shanghai Exit Entry Bureau has some days off during the Spring Festival. For more Bureaus hours this year, click HERE.

Tourist sties



Its the year of the rat, and visiting Shanghai Disney Resort might be a good way to celebrate Chinese New Year with Micky Mouse! The resorts adjusted hours are:

Jan. 19 to 23 | 8:30 to 22:00

Jan. 24 | 8:30 to 19:00

Jan. 25 to 31 | 8:30 to 22:00


Yu Garden will have a light show celebrating the Chinese New Year from now until Feb 11! Attention: no light show on Jan. 24. More info HERE.


Amusement park Happy Valley Shanghai CNY hours: 9:30-21:00 (Jan. 25 to Feb. 9).


Wax museum Madame Tussauds Shanghai CNY hours:

Jan. 24: 10:00-18:00

Jan. 25: 10:00-20:00

Other days: 10:00-21:00


Shanghai World Financial Center Observatory (97F and 100F) has adjusted hours on Jan. 24: It will close at 21:30.


Operating hours are for Shanghai Ocean Aquarium extended to 21:00 during Chinese New Year Holiday. Ticket sales and admission during peak season end at 20:30.


LEGOLAND Discovery Centers hours on Jan. 24: from 10:00 to 17:00. Other hours are from 10:00 to 20:00.

  • Oriental Pearl Tower: 8:00 to 22:00 great veiw

  • Shanghai Zoo: 7:30 to 16:30

  • Shanghai Botanical Garden7:00 to 17:00

Good news: Grocery deliveries wont be away during CNY but you may pay a higher delivery fee.
