Chef Daniel

Let Chef Daniel take you through a journey of culinary excellence to experience some of his favorite dishes.

Inspired by his enthusiasm towards food, Chef Daniel has devoted himself to cooking for most of his life. His inspiration comes from everywhere art, music, architecture, what he sees and what he feels. This drives his innovation and allows him to create new dishes, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.

With 16 years of diligence in cooking and growing with Marriott, his experience has helped him achieve his dreams. Ideas are ingredients, he says. I am always fascinated by innovative dishes.

This season, Chef Daniel presents two Mexican classics to delight your tastebuds: chicken fajitas and Texas pork short ribs. Explore the best of Mexican cuisine with these tasty dishes.

Chef Denny Yao

With more than 20 years of experience in high-end hotels both here and abroad, Chef Denny Yao, Chinese Executive Chef of Sheraton Grand Shanghai Pudong Complex, has his own ideas and concepts of cooking. He specializes in Cantonese and Shanghainese cuisine, and is also innovative in fusion cuisine.

During a two-year stint in Europe, he mastered both Asian and Western cuisine. He blends Western cooking methods with Chinese cuisine to present the best of both styles. His signature dish at China Court Restaurant, stir-fried scallops with black truffle, makes use of Western preparation styles to maximize the fresh and original tastes of the ingredients.

Chef Denny always selects the best and most suitable raw ingredients for each of his dishes. Recently he and his team developed several signature favorites, including roasted duck with caviar and sliced toast, stewed Australian beef steak with chicken soup and puer tea, steamed dumplings stuffed with black truffle and meat and minced codfish ball in braised chicken and pork soup.

Thanks to his strict control of food quality, China Court Chinese Restaurant is always full of returning guests.

Chef Ryan Ruan

The cosmopolitan city of Shanghai is an intoxicating blend of past and present, East and West. And nowhere is the character of Shanghai more evident than in its cuisine. You can literally have a taste of Shanghai through its food.

Chef Ryan, Chinese Chef of Nian Feng Chinese Restaurant of Four Points by Sheraton Shanghai, Pudong has devoted himself to bring the most authentic Shanghainese cuisine to guests for more than 35 years. He received several awards for his outstanding culinary skills and innovations throughout his career, and he continues creating innovative recipes to maximize the Shanghainese flavor.

His signature dish, roasted beef ribs, is one of the restaurants best-selling items. The ribs are marinated with several different spices, steamed to lock the gravy, roasted in the oven and then served with black pepper sauce.

Another creative dish of Chef Ryans, deep-fried codfish with Shaoxing rice wine and butter, is also popular among local diners because of its tender texture and unique taste.

If youd like to call back the memories of your childhood in Shanghai, or want to try something new and different, just come and try Chef Ryans new menu.
