Born in Xiangtan, Hunan province in 1950, photographer Ouyang Xingkais Hongjiang series captures Hongjiang old town, an ancient Hunanese city that has remained relatively unchanged since its peak as a river trading village during the Song Dynasty (9601279). The series depicts the people and architecture of this unique place, a seemingly pre-modern world.
