This Boy Gained 20 Pounds to Save His Father's Life, and Now...

Back in June, we published an article on an 11-year-old boy named La Zikuan who had gained 20 pounds in only 3 months after hard-working efforts to get fatter, fatter, and a little bit fatter.

After being diagnosed with leukemia 7 years ago, the only way his father could survive would be with a bone marrow transplant. And as it turns out, Lu is the perfect bone marrow donor and was more than willing to step up for his father.

"He wouldnt count how many meals he has a day, said Lus mother, with a feeling os unease and helplessness. He just eats whenever he feels like he can.

And after just a few months, we are excited to report that Lu has finally met the doctor's requirements to proceed with the transplant!

On Sept. 9 and 10, the young boy donated bone marrow and hematopoietic stem cells to his father, whose life is now out of danger thanks to his brave young boy.

September 9th was a special day not just of the transplant, but because it was also Lus fathers birthday.

With tears rushing down his cheeks as he was preparing to do the surgery, his father posted an update on his WeChat Moments: "My son has given me a precious birthday gift... I want to thank him for everything he has done for me."

Lu read it and said, "My birthday gift to my dad is bone marrow!"

The young Lu has always spoken very highly of his father, who he said can ride a motorcycle and fix a lot of things. He is always full of pride.

The surgery began at 8:30 AM and took more than five hours. Although extracting bone marrow from Lus waist was painful, the young son held on, knowing everything was going to be okay, both for him and his father.

With 500 ml of extracted bone marrow, he was sitting in a wheelchair with swollen eyes and a big smile.

The bone marrow was transplanted into his father the same day.

After hearing this news, his filial piety warmed the hearts of my Chinese netizens all across the country and the world.

The dedication and efforts this strong boy was willing to put into saving his fathers life inspires us to always do good by our parents, who not only brought us into this world but nurtured us to become the person we are today.

We all wish the best for Lu and his father, and the happiest of lives for many years to come!
