There is no such thing as a free lunch. No, there is! According to the mainstream media in Liaoning, there are free English lessons given by four expats. Their actions aren't just for show, or on a whim, as they've done it for years.
At the end of 2018, a report about four expats in Shenyang that were giving free English classes to local children from low-income families, won the hearts of netizens.
However, they've actually been doing it for 3 years without any media spotlight or any attention.
Since May 2015, every Tuesday and Thursday in Zhujianlao of Shenhe District, lively English classes were given to 32 children in two classes, totally for free.
There are four teachers working in turn: a Norwegian lady named Hou Aihua, her husband Hou Boen from the United States, and another two expats.
