Following Shanghais recent plans to implement new classification protocols to properly recycle urban household waste, Zhejiangs city of Wenzhou will implement its own standards, effective August 1.
Its classification is made up of four categories: recyclables, hazardous waste, perishable waste, and other waste.
If a company or an individual disposes of household garbage in violation of the citys classification system and refuses to correct their mistake, fines between RMB 500 - 5,000 for companies and of up to RMB 200 for individuals will be imposed.
