On August 19th, a phone call from a market merchant broke the peaceful atmosphere of the Yiqicha (an app to monitor the credit and security of trades) office of commodity market in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province.
As per the caller, earlier in the day, when he was about to open his shop as usual, he unexpectedly he saw LD, an Indian man who used to be in charge of a foreign trade company there years ago.

He saw LD drinking coffee in a roadside cafe. Previously, in 2015, LD had run away from the area, and owed around 250,000 Yuan, and managed to leave nothing in his shop. This situation caused many local merchants to bear the loss, and the caller was one of them.

However, as the years passed by, the caller could not remember what LD exactly looked like. So, he decided to call the staff at Yiqicha, to see if they help confirm it, by reporting the situation to the relevant department, and to check the man's passport.

Persuaded by the staff, the caller agreed to wait for them and to not take any action by himself.

Meanwhile, the director of the Yiqicha immediately contacted the relevant market department and other victim merchants. Shortly after, merchants involved including the caller, staff from Yiqicha and market department rushed to the caf all together. As confirmed by everyone on scene, the man was in fact LD.

As for LD, who was enjoying his coffee, he became frightened by the people who rushed towards him, and was surprised that he would be recognized for so long.

He believed that it would be safe for him to return to Yiwu for further business, which is why he had returned. Yet, he was caught just one day after his arrival.

As per a negotiation, LD agreed to pay everyone back on that day. However, he didn't have the money on him as the matter was not on his schedule. Thus, he paid 50% to each of them on spot, and agreed to pay the remainder in the afternoon.

As per the news, it is understood that all of the locals received their money back, and LD was once again able to trade in Yiwu.
