First of all

More and more insurance companies are digitalizing their insurance cards, where you could save the electronic insurance card in your phone, without having to worry about forgetting your physical card when going for treatment. You will have your phone with you at most of the time, hence you could use your phone as your insurance card. Some insurance companies will integrate the insurance card in their app, where you will be able to view your insurance card directly from their app. As a foreigner, we would like to have things as simple as possible, and the digitalization of insurance could help us avoid any possible complication we might encounter by forgetting or losing our insurance cards.
Secondly, as mentioned above, mobile app to use for hospital information, appointment booking, and so on. As a foreigner fresh out of the water in a foreign country, we might not be familiar of the local medical scene, including which hospitals have English-speaking doctors that are suitable for foreigners to visit. With comprehensive information of hospitals available locally, we would be able to find suitable hospitals near the place we live. The hospital information includes language availability, departments available, opening hours, and so on. We could even book doctors appointment through the insurance companys app, which eliminates the necessity of having to call the hospital in person.
Through the app, Insurance policy information, contract terms would be accessible at any time. There are times when we tend to forget what we are covered for, but the need of having to look for the contract and search for the specific terms could be frustrating and time-consuming. Sometimes the jargon is simply not easy to understand. However, with the digitalization of insurance, you would be able to view your insurance certificate, the insurance contract and terms & conditions right in your app, making you able to have access to it at any time. This saves a significant amount of time and gives us peace of mind that we always have all the information available with us.
