These Cities Will Begin Face to Face Classes on May 4th!

As the public schools have resumed classes in Zhejiang, the off-campus training institutions will also open for business. As of now, three cities in Zhejiang have announced the reopening time of training institutions.


1. Yiwu 


Since April 20, the off-campus training institutions in Yiwu have been able to apply for resumption via Internet, and can resume offline classes on May 4 as long as they pass on-site inspection. Before submitting their applications, training institutions shall get the preparation done as required for epidemic prevention.

2. Haining 


On April 26, Haining issued a notice claiming that the off-campus training institutions for primary and middle school students can resume face to face training from May 4 after verification; while the off-campus training institutions (including early learning centers) for kindergarten children can resume offline training one week after the public kindergartens go back to track. 



3. Zhoushan

 Chinese mainland reports 6 new confirmed cases


Chinese health authority said on Tuesday it received reports of six new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland on Monday, among which three were domestically contracted and three were imported. Also, 40 new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases were reported on the mainland, including three imported ones. 



Beijing's SARS treatment hospital clears all COVID-19 cases


Xiaotangshan Hospital, which was previously used to quarantine SARS patients in Beijing, cleared all COVID-19 cases Tuesday and is scheduled to cease operation Wednesday.

 

The hospital, located in the city's northern suburb, was renovated and put into operation on March 16 for the screening and treatment of imported mild and common confirmed COVID-19 cases, suspected cases and those who need to be tested.


 

Hubei reports no increase in COVID-19 cases


No new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were reported in Hubei Province Monday, the provincial health commission said Tuesday.

 

By the end of Monday, there were no new confirmed cases in the province.

 


Zhejiang University to build Jiaxing campus role model of intl co-op education



Zhejiang University (ZJU) plans to develop its international campus in Haining, a county in Jiaxing, into a role model for how to carry out international cooperative education, local media reported on April 25.

 

The University of Edinburgh (UoE) and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) established the ZJUUoE Institute and ZJUUIUC Institute at the Haining campus to offer dual-degree undergraduate and postgraduate education.


  

The international campus launched programs to recruit high-level talent from around the world. It is already home to many overseas teachers, 46% of whom have received a doctoral degree from one of the world's top 50 universities and 53% of whom are non-Chinese.

 

The ZJU International Campus will further focus on cooperating with institutes run by world-class universities and seeks to attract overseas high-level talent and educational resources.

 

Hangzhou launches massive live streaming program to promote culture and tourism


Hangzhou launched a massive live streaming program to promote the city's unique culture and tourism at the exhibition hall of Water Margin culture in Xixi National Wetland Park, Hangzhou, on April 23.

 

During the launch ceremony, two internet celebrities were invited to present Xixi National Wetland Park, a 5A-level scenic area in Hangzhou, through live stream, where they promoted Xixi-Wetland-inspired products made by visitors to the park.

Over the next several days, the internet celebrities and artists will travel to Hangzhou's 13 districts to help promote local products and give performances.
