Top 10 Landmark Buildings in Shanghai! The Winner Is...

To celebrate Shanghais rapid urban development and beautiful wonders, the Architecture and Culture Society of China (ACSC) published a list of the citys top 10 landmark buildings.

To no ones surprise, the list begins with the iconic Shanghai Tower, located in the heart of the Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone in Pudong.

It shares the record (along with the Ping An Finance Center) of having the world's highest observation deck within a building or structure at 562 meters high, and is the world's second-tallest building by height to architectural top behind the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

The Hongqiao Transportation Hub

 The Jin Mao Tower

 The Oriental Pearl Tower

The National Exhibition and Convention Center, used as a venue for the China International Import Expo

The Mercedes-Benz Arena

(formerly the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Center)

The Shanghai Oriental Sports Center

New World City

Shanghai International Media Port

Shanghai Grand Theatre

All projects and buildings considered for this top 10 list were required to have been completed between 1978 and 2019 with distinct characteristics manifesting Shanghais reform and opening up.

Selected names stand out based on their architectural work, aesthetics, and cultural influence, according to the ACSC.

Have you visited any of the above-mentioned towers and areas of Shanghai?
