Be Aware! Heavy Snow in These Areas! 105 Flights Canceled!

On the evening of January 5th, Beijing experienced the first snowfall in the new year. Due to the weather, as of 8AM on January 6th, 105 flights at Beijing Capital International Airport had been canceled. Besides, the expressway was closed, resulting in the suspension of all lines of inter provincial buses.


Later the day, the situation was under control and the traffic including the airlines gradually returned to a normal order.

As we all know that the icy roads and low visibility caused by heavy snow strongly influence the traffic including airlines and driving, resulting in many delays. According to the weather forecast, until 8th, bad weather will continue in a wider range and the traffic might be inconvenient for travelers.

The heavy rain and snow in parts of Shaanxi, South Shanxi, North Henan, southwest Heilongjiang, Northeast Inner Mongolia, will continue until the night of January 7th, and there will be heavy blizzard in south Shaanxi, south Shanxi, north Henan, and Shandong.



From the night of January 7th to the morning of January 8th, it will be foggy with visibility less than 1km in the south-central part of North China, Huanghuai, and Jianghan, where the visibility in some of the places will be less than 200m.

During the day of January 8th, there will be 7-8 gales and gusts of 9-10 in the areas of Bohai Strait (including Liaoning, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong), most of the Yellow Sea (Jiangsu), and north of the East China Sea (including Shanghai, and north Zhejiang).
