A month full of fun and learning 🍁
Time flies - 时光飞逝 shíguāng fēishì!
Grocery Shopping...
in 中文
What's your favourite fruit in China?
Can you buy it in Chinese?
How about bargaining for the best price?
Our Intensive Group students are becoming pros at this 😎
It's true: the more actively you use your knowledge outside the classroom, the more natural your Chinese will become 🍎🍊
Hosting a Bilingual Party
At our Chengdu campus, students took on an even more challenging task—discussing everything in two (or more) languages!
Well done, Chengdu 💪🏻
Rope Skipping
(Between Classes)
The grace. The speed. The precision ✨
At our Shanghai campus, students tested their skills with a traditional Chinese sport - 跳绳 (tiàoshéng), or rope skipping.
Back to childhood!
Hiking in Hangzhou
And our Hangzhou students did just that 🍂
As the weather turned pleasantly cool, our Hangzhou students set out for a hike along the famous Hui-Hang Ancient Trail — a historic route once linking Zhejiang and Anhui — together with friends and family.
Getting Crafty with
Paper Cutting ✂️
For some cultural immersion, students at our Shanghai campus joined a Snowflake Paper Cutting workshop.
Take a look at the beautiful snowflakes they created—just a little imagination and patience can go a long way!
Practicing Calligraphy
Meanwhile, at our Beijing campus, students tried calligraphy for the first time.
KTV-ing 🎤
At our Shanghai campus, November was truly a month of shining 🪩✨
New stars (singing in Chinese, of course) were born!
Stepping out of your comfort zone and performing — especially in a foreign language — is no easy task.
Well done, Shanghai 💛
Bonus: 糖画 Tánghuà!
If you happened to be at our Shanghai campus that day, you might have wondered:
What's with all the candy?!
Well, 糖画 (tánghuà), or sugar painting, is a traditional edible art form 🍭
It's both 好看 (hǎokàn) and 好吃 (hǎochī)!
What's Next?
At That's Mandarin, we believe language learning goes far beyond the classroom. From real-world experiences to cultural immersion, our Intensive Course helps students connect with Chinese on a deeper, more personal level.
