
More International Flights to Shanghai Suspended from Aug 1
The Civil Aviation Administration of China announced suspension over more international flights to Shanghai.
Lufthansa flight LH728 (Frankfurt - Shanghai) will be suspended for 2 more weeks from August 1 after 8 passengers on a flight tested postive for COVID on July 13.
United Airlines' Flight UA857 (San Francisco - Shanghai) will be put on hold for 2 more weeks from August 8 after 5 passengers on a flight tested positive for COVID on July 18.
According to the suspension mechanism launched by the administration, if there are more than 5 positive cases (including 5) on a flight, the suspension is extended from 1 week to 2. If the number reaches 10, the suspension will last for 4 weeks.
The airline will be allowed to increase its flights to 2 per week only if all inbound passengers test negative 3 weeks in a row.
