Good afternoon everybody

Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park has unveiled the worlds first robotic whale shark, which could potentially replace live cetaceans in captivity in aquariums and theme parks across China.

The 4.7-metre-long bionic whale shark weighs 350kg.
It can swim at speeds of 0.7 metres per second and dive as deep as 10 metres below the surface.

Although it is huge, it can highly simulate the reality.
The movements of whale sharks can independently complete straight lines, turns, floating, diving, depth setting, mouth opening and closing, gill slits, and bait throwing in the water.

Fang Xuelin, a member of the project development team and assistant director of Shenyang Aerospace Xinguang Group's Underwater Propulsion Technology Research Office, introduced that this bionic whale shark has technologies such as wireless remote control, program-controlled swimming, and multi-joint bionic propulsion
In the future, this bionic whale can also be equipped with different sensors to realize water quality monitoring, photography and other functions.

Such a special "actor" , can highly simulate the real whale shark action, is almost identical to the real whale shark, not only cool, but also full of technology.

It swimming side by side with thousands of colorful exotic fish in the seven-degree sloping immersive exhibition tank, attracting the attention of many tourists.
