Chinese Vice Premier Sun Chunlan has urged solid efforts to stay on the target of cutting off COVID-19 transmission in communities as epidemic prevention and control enter a critical stage in Shanghai.
The city is carrying out PCR testing + Antigen testing from May 1 to May 7 as it seeks to clean up cases as soon as possible.
Till today, there are 13,819 lockdown areas, with a population of 2.54 million, 22,317 controlled areas, with a population of about 5.38 million, and 56,699 precautionary areas, with a population of more than 15.47 million.
Yesterday, 3,981 local confirmed cases in the city were discharged from hospital, and 27,121 asymptomatic infections were released from central quarantine.
Disinfection requirements -- 3 stages
Citizens who have been discharged from the quarantine sites are reminded to disinfect all items.
When they are discharged from the hospital, they must thoroughly disinfect all the belongings. They can wipe mobile phones, computers and other electronic products with alcohol cotton balls or disinfectant wipes, and put disinfected items into clean bags. Luggages would be sent to the exit of the isolation point, where disinfection personnel would disinfect the outer surface of the luggage.
On the way back home, citizens are asked to wear disposable medical masks or medical surgical masks all the time, avoid talking with fellow passengers, and sanitize their hands right after getting off the bus.
After returning home, they should put belongings, changed coats, and shoes in open air. It is recommended to disinfect all these personal belongings again. They should also sanitize their hands with running water in time.
Home quarantine requirements
In accordance with the relevant requirements, all discharged people must carry out 7-day home health observation.
During the period, relevant personnel will conduct self-health monitoring every day, measure body temperature twice in the morning and evening, and complete PCR testing once on the 7th day (door-to-door sampling).
They must stay indoors, stay in one room alone if possible, and keep certain distance from those who live with them. If they have a fever, cough, or other discomfort, they must report it to the community ASAP.
If there're any medical needs or emergencies, they must wear masks properly and wait for the committee to transfer them to designated hospitals.
