The entire Xi'an City, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, is lowered to low-risk area since Monday with its lockdown gradually lifted. This comes one month later after the city was placed under lockdown on December 23, 2021. The local authority released regulations to ensure the resumption of normal production and life.

The local government released a statement on its official account on Sina Weibo detailing a series of regulations to ensure the resumption of normal production and life in the city in an orderly manner.

People can now leave the city with just green health codes instead of having to obtain a certificate.

People from low-risk areas can return to the city with a negative nucleic acid test result obtained within 48 hours, big data of itinerary of one's movements and a green health code. People from high-risk areas will be placed under centralized quarantine with the accommodation fees being charged.

The public transportation in the city including buses, taxis, car-hailing services, metros and shuttle buses will completely resume operations.

All the shopping malls, supermarkets, and shops along the streets can resume their business. Restaurants can resume operation with the number of diners restricted and the distance between diners controlled. Other public places such as scenic spots and theaters are required to control the number of visitors.

Besides, people are encouraged to resort to online meetings and videoconferences. But in case of in person meetings and gatherings, the number of attendees should be under a certain limit required by the local government.

Meanwhile, areas which remain under lockdown and control management are required to continue to strictly implement the related regulations.
