Imports and exports of central China's Henan province topped nearly 821 billion yuan ($129 billion) last year, according to Zhengzhou customs. The foreign trade volume of Henan exceeded 800 billion yuan for the first time, posting an yearly rise of 22.9 percent, said the customs of the provincial capital.

Foreign trade in Southwest China's Yunnan province registered a 16.8-percent year-on-year growth in 2021, reaching 314.4 billion yuan ($49.4 billion), Kunming Customs said Wednesday.

Coffee giant Starbucks has opened a second Greener Store in the Chinese mainland, which meets its new standards of low energy consumption and waste disposal. The new outlet is located in the city of Suzhou in East China's Jiangsu province. The first Starbucks Greener Store on the Chinese mainland was established in Shanghai last year.

The Chinese mainland recorded 55 new locally transmitted COVID-19 infections over the past day, a considerable drop compared with 127 newly reported a day earlier. Tuesday saw 33 new local infections in Henan, 14 in Tianjin, seven in Guangdong, and one in Beijing, according to the latest data from the National Health Commission.

China has unveiled a plan outlining major targets for transportation network development in the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). High-speed railways will stretch to a total length of 50,000 kilometers in 2025, up from 38,000 kilometers in 2020, and 250-km ones are expected to cover 95 percent of cities  with  populations above 500,000, per the document released by the State Council.
