China to Stop Provide First Dose of Covid Vaccine From June 10?

China to Stop Provide First Dose of Vaccine From June 10?

Recently, the news has been circulating in many places that the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination will be used up before June 9, and the first dose of vaccination will be suspended after June 10, and the focus will be shifted to the second dose of vaccination.

There are rumors that if you have not received the first shot of the vaccine before June 10, you may never be able to get the first shot.

In response to the above-mentioned issues of public concern, the National Health Commission () responded at The Press Conference held by the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council () on May 31.

Can I get the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine after June 10?

Cui Gangthe second-level inspector of the CDC of the National Health Commission) said that in order to ensure that everyone can complete the entire vaccination on time and get better protection, from June 10th to 30th, we mainly focus on the second dose of vaccination for these target groups who have already received the first dose.

But for those with special needs, such as going abroad and those working for epidemic prevention and control, etc. the first dose of vaccines is still available. After July, we will continue to promote the first and second doses of vaccination in full scale.

Therefore, during the period from June 10th to June 30th, the first dose of vaccination will not completely run out, but the focus will be shifted to the second dose of vaccination for now. For those who have not received the first dose yet, there is no need to worry about not getting vaccinated ever. But it's best to get vaccinated as soon as possible!
