China is starting mass testing on 3 million people in a section of the northern city of Tianjin and has tested 4,015 others in a hospital in Shanghai after the discovery of a pair of cases there.

The citys health commission said on Saturday morning that one of the cases was a 52-year-old contact of another person who handled imported frozen meat.

The National Health Commission recorded seven new domestically transmitted cases Saturday, including five in Tianjin and two in Shanghai.

Tianjin on Friday reported community transmission involving four different individuals and another case. In response, local authorities sealed off the residential community where the people lived as well as a hospital and a kindergarten. On Saturday, authorities have starting testing all residents in the Binhai district of Tianjin, according to the local governments social media page.

Local authorities in Shanghai found one more case Saturday after testing 15,416 people following recent locally transmitted cases. The city is not shutting down its schools, but has locked down specific facilities such as a hospital. It is also testing all residents in the Pudong New Area district.

Authorities in Shanghai sealed off a hospital after a husband and wife tested positive for COVID-19 Friday night following a visit to the hospital. Chinas total number of confirmed cases is now 86,414.

Hebei province locked down four residential communities and two villages in Tangshan's Luannan county on Friday after it was noticed that one of the four people diagnosed with COVID-19 in Tianjin had traveled to the county.

A man, surnamed Yang, is a resident of the Kanhaixuan residential community in Tianjin, according to the city's center for disease control and prevention. Along with three other people, Yang was confirmed positive for the coronavirus early on Friday.
