Chinese internet search giant Baidu Inc announced on Sunday night it has fully opened Apollo Go Robotaxi, its self-driving taxi service, to the public in Beijing, becoming the first company to carry passengers in autonomous vehicles in the capital.

An autonomous bus was put into trial operation Sunday in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province, according to local authorities. During the 6-km trial, the autonomous bus passed through five traffic-light intersections, four bus stops, and a roundabout. It automatically accelerated, decelerated, identified traffic lights, entered stations, and parked.

At least 18 people were killed and more than 40 injured in Thailand on Sunday when a freight train crashed into a bus taking passengers to a religious ceremony, officials said. The morning collision, around 50 kilometres (30 miles) east of the capital Bangkok, toppled the bus on its side and sheared off part of its roof.

All overseas visitors attending the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) in November must undergo a 14-day quarantine in designated hotels along with multiple tests, the city government announced on Sunday. The attendees from abroad will be subject to the citys strict closed-loop management, which has been proved effective in the management of overseas arrivals amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
